From Art Director to Front End Web Developer, Brandon Reader brings a comprehensive background in design and development to Up&Up. His commitment to crafting interactive, user-friendly designs is poised to contribute to Up&Up’s ongoing efforts in building beautiful and well-crafted digital experiences.

After earning his degree from the Art Institute in Denver, Colorado, Brandon initially refined his design skills as a graphic designer at a creative agency in Orlando, Florida. Recognizing the evolving landscape of the web, he seized the opportunity to delve into web development. Over the past 18 years, Brandon has dedicated his focus to merging creative design and web development, delivering effective design solutions for various creative and advertising agencies, as well as Fortune 200 companies.

Previous to joining Up&Up, Brandon served as a Senior UI Designer and Senior Front-End Developer at DISH Network, leading the successful redesign and development of the company’s email billing platform. This comprehensive overhaul, both in design and functionality, positively impacted over 14 million subscribers each month.

Reflecting on his career, Brandon expresses a lifelong involvement with the creative arts and emphasizes the transformative power of excellent design and well-crafted digital experiences for organizational success. Over the past 18+ years as a versatile UI Designer and Developer collaborating with design and development teams, I have dedicated myself to the creation of interactive, user-friendly design solutions that make the user’s experience the best it can be.

What’s the best thing you’ve learned since starting your career?

A

I have seen how to power of excellent design and well-crafted digital experiences can be the difference between success and failure for any organization. I enjoy being part of the solutions that drive success and create amazing user experiences. The best part of web development and design is the onging growth of knowledge in this rapidly evolving field.

How did you decide to get into your current work role?

A

In high school I started taking commercial art classes in addition to fine arts and became fascinated with graphic design. After graduating from the Art Institute of Colorado I began learning web development. Since then, my entire career has focused on combining creative design and web development to achieve effective technical design solutions.
