Creative Director

Chris Rawls

Will talk nonstop about bikes and coffee/doughnut stops. Always up for a karaoke duet.

Chris’ passion for design began early, when he started designing flyers and T-shirts for various school clubs and local businesses. Years later, after many part-time retail jobs along with degrees in photography and graphic design, he translated his passion for retail into a career.

As the Creative Director for Up&Up, Chris brings two decades of experience and leadership from previous roles in product design, photo and video, and building brand and digital marketing campaigns with global brands such as SPANX, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Victoria’s Secret. He is excited to bring that experience to Up&Up in creating and delivering successful campaigns for our clients.

Outside of work, Chris is a lover of the outdoors who enjoys hiking, kayaking, and snowboarding, and he recently started learning to surf (a life-long desire). He is all-things-cycling obsessed and will be more than happy to discuss who will win the Spring Classics over a pastry and espresso.

Q

A

The culture and the people

Q

What Up&Up value do you resonate with most (win for all, purposefully excellent, radically responsible, or make it happen)?

A

win for all

Q

How do you bring Up&Up’s vision to uplift into your role as well as your personal life?

A

You will always get the best of others potential by building and lifting them up than by tearing them down

Q

What gets you most excited about your job?

A

I literally get paid to create things! How much more fun can that be!

Q

What’s your ultimate professional goal?

A

To leave a legacy of experience and mentorship to the next generation of creatives

Q

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

A

We leave our titles at the door (meaning we all roll up our sleeves and jump in to get the job done. I will never ask someone to do something I am not willing to jump in and do as well)
