Q

What’s your favorite thing about Up&Up?

A

This is one of those places that everyone must hold their own weight and take ownership over what they do. And when someone can’t, we’re all willing step in for one another. It’s such a beautiful example of teamwork and what it takes to make things happen. This dynamic requires open and honest communication which gives way for empathy in the workplace. It’s full of good people.

Q

What Up&Up value do you resonate with most (win for all, purposefully excellent, radically responsible, or make it happen)?

A

Radically responsible is what I resonate with most. I’m always going to take responsibility in my work, my actions, and thoughts. Anything I do, I strive to do it well and to the best of my ability. It’s my goal to leave things better than I found them, to enhance, fill gaps, and keep an eye out for opportunities. It’s my responsibility to make my life and my work the very best it can be.

Q

How do you bring Up&Up’s vision to uplift into your role as well as your personal life?

A

I’m a natural empath— I care so much about others and it’s easy for me to connect with them on a deep level. I think uplifting is a direct result of empathy. I want people to know they are seen, heard, cared for, and valued. As a brand strategist, that’s my job— to see, hear, and care for our clients, to help them know the deep value they have— that’s uplifting work.

Q

What gets you most excited about your job?

A

Because I’m a brand strategist, it means it’s my job to fully understand a brand, which means I HAVE to get past a surface level of understanding and into the real stuff. I love this so much! I always want to know the human aspect of things and connect my work to what people feel. I get excited to explore the opportunities that come from these curiosities and findings and get into words what someone was never able to articulate or believe about themselves. It’s a beautiful thing.

Q

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

A

“You don’t have enough power to mess EVERYTHING up.” While we certainly have the power to mess things up and make mistakes, you can never be too far gone. Though it may not come the way you envisioned, redemption is always possible.

Q

What brings you the most joy?

A

Watching my children play, talk, interact, and form a relationship with one another bring me the deepest joy. Though the banter, whining, and meltdowns are so hard, I’m deeply grateful to be able to see and hear them grow and develop with one another. It’s such a gift!
