Ronnie was introduced to business operations at an early age. Her father owned a computer company, and when his newly hired payroll administrator didn’t show up, Ronnie was quickly promoted. She’s been overseeing a broad range of financial and operations services ever since.
Prior to joining Up&Up Ronnie built an HR department for a construction company. Most recently, she worked on the BMW account at Think Up Consulting, where she managed hundreds of training courses across the company for both employees and contractors.
At Up&Up, Ronnie uses her organizational talents to manage hiring, human resources, benefits and compensation and compliance. In a sense, she keeps the whole place running.
Outside of work, Ronnie enjoys crocheting, acting as a chauffeur for her two teenagers and, as an avid reader, dreams of owning a bookstore one day.
Q&A with Ronnie Marks
What makes you proud of yourself and others?
My children. I was a single mom when they were young and just knew I was going to mess them up. To see them now as an 18 year old and 15 year old, I’m so proud of what they have become. (Though…they are totally going to write a book about me!)
What’s the best thing you’ve learned since starting your career?
You never know how much it will change from 20 to 40 years old. Be flexible because opportunities are always around the corner
How did you decide to get into your current work role?
I was introduced to accounting at 16 years old when the Payroll admin at my dad’s company never showed up. So my dad said “Ron, you’re doing payroll.” WHAT?!!
