Brandon Reader

From art director to front end developer, Brandon Reader brings an expansive background in design and development to Up&Up. His dedication to the creation of interactive, userfriendly designs will help Up&Up continue to build beautiful and well-crafted digital experiences.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Colorado, Brandon first honed his design skills at a creative agency as a graphic designer. As the web continued to evolve, Brandon saw a new opportunity to learn web development. Since then, he’s spent more than 15 years focused on combining creative design and web development to achieve effective design solutions at several creative and advertising agencies in addition to
Fortune 200 companies.

Most recently, Brandon was a UI Designer and Senior Front End Developer at DISH, where he successfully led both the UI redesign and development of the company’s email billing platform. The project was a complete overhaul in both design and functionality, actively used by over 14 million subscribers
each month.

What is the favorite part of your job and the impact you make?

Over the past 15+ years as a versatile UI Designer and Developer collaborating with design and development teams, I have dedicated myself to the creation of interactive, user-friendly design solutions that make the user’s experience the best it can be.

What’s the best thing you’ve learned since starting your career?

A

I have seen how to power of excellent design and well-crafted digital experiences can be the difference between success and failure for any organization. I enjoy being part of the solutions that drive success and create amazing user experiences. The best part of web development and design is the onging growth of knowledge in this rapidly evolving field.

How did you decide to get into your current work role?

A

In high school I started taking commercial art classes in addition to fine arts and became fascinated with graphic design. After graduating from the Art Institute of Colorado I began learning web development. Since then, my entire career has focused on combining creative design and web development to achieve effective technical design solutions.
